The recyclable disposable hygiene pumps for the Euro dispensers from the ingo-man® and RX brands are getting two updates. In addition to an optimized and simplified suction tube, the hygienic product packaging is now made from a more sustainable material.

OPHARDT Hygiene’s DHP disposable hygiene pumps have been supporting infection control in numerous medical facilities since 2017, while also reducing the effort required to reprocess Eurodispensers for soap, hand sanitizer, and lotion. Shortly after their market launch, the independent service provider Interzero certified the hygienic single-use pumps as highly recyclable and awarded them the “Made for Recycling” seal. The product, manufactured in Europe, scored 19 out of 20 points across three categories in the comprehensive evaluation.
Two improvements for even better recyclability
To further optimize the recyclability of the disposable hygiene pumps, OPHARDT Hygiene is implementing two key product changes. Going forward, the suction tube of the single-use pump will consist of a single component and will also incorporate the sealing function for the Euro bottles used. Previously, the suction tube and seal were separate components.
“It is the aim of Ophardt to achieve the highest grade for sustainability to meet the needs of the present applications without compromising the ability of future product developments“. Klaus Zscherpe, Head Global Product Categories
In addition, the existing packaging for the DHP disposable pump will be replaced with a more sustainable solution made of OPP (oriented polypropylene). Compared to the previous packaging, the OPP material offers a clear, transparent appearance and improved recyclability.
Compatibility with standard fillings and Euro bottles from various manufacturers remains unchanged. The features of the DHP disposable pumps that are valued by hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities are also fully preserved.

These recyclable single-use solutions eliminate the need for resource-intensive and time-consuming reprocessing. The hygienically individually packaged pumps are disposed of together with the Euro Bottle after use. The key advantage: If you try to remove the disposable hygiene pump from the Euro bottle for reuse, the suction tube detaches and falls into the container. This renders the pump unusable.
“The redesigned pump removes a single differing‑material component, reducing material variety to streamline manufacturing, enhance customer value, and improve recyclability—reflecting our commitment to efficient, high‑quality, material‑minimal design”. Padraig McDonagh, Engineering Manager
The DHP disposable pumps are compatible with the ingo-man Eurospender. Like the recyclable single-use pumps, this leading system for dispensing soap and hand sanitizers in German hospitals meets the requirements of the current recommendation from the Commission for Hospital Hygiene and Infection Prevention at the Robert Koch Institute [1].
