On Tuesday, June 5th, we celebrated our second World Environment Day at Ophardt Canada.
This year, more than 20 volunteers came to help us expand our pollination garden with a variety of native flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs. Our garden now includes more than 35 native plant species that provide a continuous source of food for the pollinators in our region throughout the growing season.
Native plants are ideal partners for native pollinators as they are adapted to the local climate and environmental conditions, and are often resistant to local pests and diseases. With the support of our colleagues here at OPHARDT hygiene Beamsville, we continue to drive our sustainability initiatives forward and raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity.
Thank you once again to all participants that contributed to the day’s success!
