This award is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world and has been presented in Germany since 1953. It is a mark of good design for consumers, selected from design community luminaries.

The innovative ideas to display the fill level and battery level so that this information is easily viewable on each device impressed the international designers and helped the series win the award.
IF Design Award 2022
The IF Design Award was once founded as “Die Gute Industrieform e.V.”. Today, six decades later, the IF Design Award is a global flagship for excellent design and one of the most prestigious design awards worldwide.
This year’s award started with a record number of entries, 10,776 in all. From this pool, 2,687 participants from 49 nations qualified for the IF final round of judging.
The final round took place over three days in the Wilhelm-Hallen in Berlin. The jury was a designers who’s who, with 132 design experts from over 20 countries. Their task was to find the most innovative submissions.
The submissions were evaluated using the IF Jury Tool, where projects were awarded points based on five criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation and impact. All projects that received a score of more than 270 points were eligible to receive the Winner award.
Why the SanTRAL® Plus won an IF Design Award
The functionality of the SanTRAL® Plus series helped it stand out. The fill level and battery level warnings prevent empty dispensers in toilet cubicles and at washroom sinks. Especially During this pandemic, the availability of washroom supplies like soap and paper towels plays an essential role in keeping visitors healthy. Maximum protection against infection can only be provided if supplies are available. The dispensers of the SanTRAL® Plus series inform staff via notifications on their phones, tablets, or computers when the dispensers are in danger of running empty. As soon as the dispenser is refilled, the task is automatically declared as completed.
As a high-design product, the SanTRAL® Plus is highly customizable. With three standard colors (Steel Touch, Arctic White, and Midnight) and three premium finishes (Oslo Blue, Copper Rose, and Slate Grey) the SanTRAL® Plus series takes washrooms to a new level.
