SanTRAL® Plus wins a Red Dot Award!

The Red Dot Award is one of the biggest design awards in the world and one the entire industry pays attention to. With international appeal, a museum for excellent products, and numerous events around the world, the awards makes achievements in design visible to an international audience. We are thrilled that SanTRAL® Plus will receive a Winner award at the Red Dot Awards 2022. 

Red Dot Award

The Red Dot Award is one of the largest and most prestigious awards in the world. It has been awarded annually since 1955. Entries from three categories (Product Design, Brands and Communication) are judged by an international panel of experts. Our SanTRAL® Plus washroom series was among the entries in the Product Design category. The award unites the top class in product design and evaluates aesthetics, functionality, innovation and smart functions. And this renowned jury has selected SanTRAL® Plus as a winner in the 2022 Red Dot Awards.

OPHARDT’s SanTRAL® Plus: The new benchmark for public washrooms

In 1991, OPHARDT launched the complete portfolio of stainless steel dispensers for public washrooms we now call SanTRAL® Classic. Durability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability characterized the product portfolio of the series even then. Through constant dialogue with users, the washroom series continued to develop.

In 2020, the tried-and-true SanTRAL® series was given a re-design from in the inside out. Attractive exterior lines and finishes housed new and innovative technology on the inside. Today’s SanTRAL® Plus series is winning over customers. Not only is quality of the dispensers attractive to users, the flexibility of filling material is a key feature that draws attention. The series features attractive colors from the classic stainless steel look to premium finishes such as Copper Rose, Oslo Blue (light blue) and Slate Grey.

Inside, all dispensers can be equipped with sensors that send real-time data about fill level and battery state to our OWMS (OPHARDT Washroom Monitoring System) service or a third-party facility management program. If a dispenser is in danger of becoming empty, a task is automatically generated on the cleaner’s mobile device. Once the dispenser is refilled, the task is automatically marked completed. This enables significant advantages for facility management. By switching to automated, demand-based task management, time and money can be saved by using both staff and management more effectively. Importantly, customer satisfaction can be increased due to consistently availability product.

The designer of the series, Patrick Stressler, is touts the benefits of the new, intelligent washroom series. “The aim in designing the SanTRAL® Plus series was to take the product portfolio into the future, as a logical continuation of the previous stainless steel washroom series, SanTRAL® Classic. Digitizating hand hygiene motivated a complete re-think of our SanTRAL® internals. In the process, however, we have carefully reworked the external design, using a design language typical of the brand and developing coherent new solutions in crucial details. We are delighted that the ideas that have gone into the design and new functions of the SanTRAL® Plus series have been recognized internationally and that the series has now received the Red Dot Award.”
